FCC Ámbito obtains Zero Waste Management Certification for two industrial waste recovery and valorisation plants
FCC Ámbito obtained the Zero Waste Management certification awarded by AENOR for its industrial waste recovery and valorisation plants located in Castellbisbal and Pont de Vilomara i Rocafort, both in the province of Barcelona. With these awards, FCC Ámbito demonstrates both the viability of converting industrial waste into resource and its commitment to sustainability and excellence in waste management.
On the one hand, FCC Ámbito has achieved certification for its refuse-derived fuel (RDF) manufacturing plant located in the municipality of Castellbisbal. During the verification process, the plant reached 97.41% recovery of the waste managed.
The company has also achieved certification for its WEEE (waste electrical and electronic equipment) treatment and recycling plant, specifically for refrigerators and cooling equipment, located in the municipality of Pont de Vilomara i Rocafort. During the verification process, this plant achieved a 91.53% recovery rate for the waste managed.
These achievements underline FCC Ámbito's dedication and commitment to excellence and to achieving the goals set out in its 2050 Sustainability Strategy, which it shares with FCC Medio Ambiente, specifically in the environmental axis, which aims to transform the production model of FCC Ámbito's industrial customers to the Circular Economy. The 2050 Sustainability Strategy is a 30-year business development roadmap that integrates very demanding objectives and commitments of high added value for the Group and society as a whole, and which are integrated into four lines of action: environmental, social, excellence and governance.
Obtaining the Zero Waste Certification is also tangible proof of the compliance of its management system with the standards of the demanding Zero Waste Management regulation. This certification not only validates the company's efforts, but also its position as a leader in the recycling and waste management sector.
FCC Ámbito remains committed to innovation and continuous improvement, with the aim of achieving maximum efficiency and sustainability in all its operations.
